UPDATE: (June 14, 2024) – Kentucky State Police detectives located an infant’s body consistent with Miya Rudd at 1:15 Friday. The decomposed body was located inside the residence hidden in a concealed manner.
After investigators process the scene, the baby will be taken by the Ohio County Coroner’s Office and transported to the Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Louisville.
The investigation is ongoing by Kentucky State Police, Ohio County Coroner’s Officer and Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office.
PREVIOUSLY:
Kentucky State Police have arrested a Reynolds Station man for his role in the illegal drug operation at the Rudd residence, the home of an eight-month-old missing girl.
Brodie C. Payne, 28, of Reynolds Station was charged with first-degree trafficking in controlled substance, (greater than 2 grams – methamphetamine); trafficking of legend drugs; trafficking marijuana; engaging in organized crime and possession of paraphernalia and first-degree wanton endangerment.
Kentucky State Police served Payne at the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.
Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit started a drug trafficking investigation on Payne months prior. The investigation revealed Payne was using the U.S. Postal Service to facilitate his drug trafficking operation.
Investigators coordinated with U.S. Postal Inspection Service and Kentucky State Police DE/SI and arrested Payne on May 5 with 1/2 pound of meth and approximately 3/4 pound of suspected fentanyl laced pills.
Payne had been residing at the Rudd household for approximately six months prior to his arrest.
He is the eighth person arrested in connection to missing baby Miya Rudd. The baby’s parents and both sets of grandparents and another individual have been arrested on various charges since June 6, when Rudd was reported missing during a welfare check by police.
Miya Rudd is an eight-month-old baby girl with brown hair and green eyes.
