Sandy Lee Watkins Songfest kicks off July 24-27th in Downtown Henderson

Henderson, KY – Over twenty award-winning songwriters will return to Henderson for the 14th Annual Sandy Lee Watkins Songwriters Festival. The event will take place in Downtown Henderson in the evenings from July 24th through July 27th.

Organizers said they are thrilled to welcome back songwriters who will share the stories behind the hit songs we hear on the radio. Festival goers will hear the songs, by the gals and guys who wrote them. The songwriters have written hits, such as, “The Dance” by Garth Brooks, “Waiting on a Women” by Brad Paisley, “A Women Like You” by Lee Brice, “Troubadour” by George Strait and many more.

The live performances will be held at two venues in downtown Henderson: The Elm and Rookies Sports Bar and Restaurant. The schedule and information regarding single-session tickets or festival passes is available online at the website.

The funds raised by the 2024 festival will be granted to local non-profits in Henderson. “The annual songwriters festival provides the stories behind the songs we hear on the radio. The craft of writing a song is memorable and to partner that with awarding funds to local non-profits makes the 4-day festival unforgettable.” stated Jessica Beaven, Media Chair for Sandy Lee Songfest.
