HENDERSON, KY, July 15, 2024– Due to the high temperatures expected the remainder of the day, Henderson Municipal Power & Light is asking their customers to reduce energy usage until 12 a.m. Monday, July 15th.
The most effective ways for residential customers to conserve energy during hot weather are to raise A/C thermostat settings, limit use of appliances, and cover windows.
For more energy conservation tips, residents are asked to visit HMP&L’s website, www.hmpl.com/energy-conservation-tips.html.
“The regional generation capacity advisory by MISO will be terminated at midnight. Customers should know that wholesale power prices can be extremely high during times of peak electricity demand, like we experienced today. Collective efforts to reduce power consumption during these times can help minimize exposure to those higher costs and reduce strain on the electric grid.” explained Brad Bickett, Henderson Municipal Power & Light General Manager.
