Henderson City Commission unanimously approves lowering property tax rates

The City of Henderson Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved lowering tax rates.

The Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to reduce the current real property and personal property tax rates during its Sept. 10^th regular meeting.

The ordinance reads: “It is the recommendation of the City Manager and staff to adopt the Real Property Rate 1, the compensating rate, which will reduce the current rate by 0.005, and also to adopt the Personal Property Rate 1, the compensating rate, which will reduce the current rate by 0.039.”

After this decrease, the City of Henderson’s property tax rates will reach the lowest they’ve been since 2010. With Tuesday’s decrease, real and personal property tax rates will have ben lowered by more than 23 percent over the past three years, according to City of Henderson officials.
