UPDATE: The boil water advisory for Zion has been lifted.
Henderson County Water District is undertaking necessary emergency repairs for second water main break in Zion.
The scheduled water main repair for today in Zion required valves to be operated in order to repair the main. When valves were shut as part of this work, additional main breaks occurred in the area.
Customers on Kentucky 351-East from Book Drive heading East to Kentucky 1078 in Zion have lost water pressure or have no water at all. Crews are working diligently to restore water service as soon as possible.
As a precaution, a boil water advisory is issued for the area of Kentucky 351-East near Zion. Heading east on Kentucky 351 from Book Drive to the intersection of Kentucky 1078 near Zion Baptist Church on Kentucky 351, including all of Book Drive, Holloway Lane, Bishop Lane, Holloway Hills subdivision, Bauern Court., St. Olaf Circle, Weis Lane, Larue Road.
Work is ongoing and when water service is restored, these areas will be under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice. If you are in this area and lost water pressure or had no water at all, please boil all water used for human consumption to a rolling boil for 3-5 minutes until further notice.
The estimated time that the BWA will be in effect is subject to satisfactory bacteriological testing. A second notice will be issued when the boil water advisory is lifted.

Superintendent Mark Julian also said, “We understand the frustration caused by the recent water service outage and appreciate your patience. Please note that this outage was previously announced as part of a scheduled repair. However, during the process of operating valves to isolate the area, a water main failed in another location nearby.”
