The Henderson County Colonels faced off against the Owensboro Catholic at home last night on Homecoming Night.
The Colonels would suffer their 3rd loss of the season, 28-2, loss against the Aces.
Colonel sophomore quarterback Jack Dalton was 4 for 12 with 35 yards and 2 interceptions on the night. Sophomore quarterback Jack Dalton rushed 22 times with 104 rushing yards while senior running back Tony Burrus rushed 22 times for 98 yards on the night. Senior wide receiver Lacon McKinney had 3 receptions for 27 yards on the night. Colonels 2 points came on a bad snap by the Aces center that went into the endzone and an Aces player dove on it in the end zone for a safety.
The Colonels as a team, had 212 yards rushing and 35 yards passing for a total of 247 yards of offense on the night. The Colonel’s defense allowed the Aces to have 32 yards rushing and 314 passing yards for a total of 346 yards of total offense on the night, as the Colonels forced 2 punts, 4 fumbles but didn’t recover any, and allowed the Aces to get 17 first downs. The Colonels had 8 penalties for 74 yards while the Aces had 6 penalties for 56 yards on the night.
The Colonels (2-3) will take on the Mayfield Cardinals (2-2) on the road on Friday night, September 20th, with the kickoff set for 7:00 P.M.
