The Henderson County Colonels faced off against the Daviess County Panthers at home last night.
The Colonels would come away with their 3rd win of the season, 35-7, against the Panthers.
Colonel sophomore quarterback Brody Belt was 12 for 17 with 207 yards and 2 touchdown passes on the night. Senior running back Tony Burrus rushed 12 times for 84 yards and 1 rushing touchdown on the night. Senior wide receiver Lacon McKinney had 5 receptions for 97 yards and 1 touchdown reception while senior running back Tony Burrus had 3 receptions for 53 yards on the night.
Junior linebacker J.R. Reusch had the Colonels first score with a 74 yard fumble returned for a touchdown.
The Colonels as a team, had 113 yards rushing and 207 yards passing for a total of 320 yards of offense on the night. The Colonel’s defense allowed the Panthers to have 33 yards rushing and 40 passing yards for a total of 73 yards of total offense on the night, as the Colonels forced 6 punts, 1 fumble, and allowed the Panthers to get 9 first downs. The Colonels had 9 penalties for 99 yards while the Panthers had 5 penalties for 35 yards on the night.
The Colonels (3-5) will be on the road to take on the Christian County Colonels (1-7) next Friday night, October 25th, with the kickoff set for 7:00 P.M.
