The Henderson County Colonels faced off against the Barren County Trojans at home last night in the opening round of the playoffs, in which the Colonels suffered their 7th loss of the season against the Trojans, 21-14.
Colonel sophomore quarterback Brody Belt was 2 for 8 with 7 yards with 2 interceptions on the night. Senior running back Tony Burrus rushed 25 times for 199 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns on the night.
The Colonels as a team, had 175 yards rushing and 7 yards passing for a total of 182 yards of offense on the night. The Colonel’s defense allowed the Trojans to have 153 yards rushing and 151 passing yards for a total of 304 yards of total offense on the night, as the Colonels forced 2 fumbles and recovered 2, forced 4 punts, and allowed the Trojans to get 12 first downs. The Colonels had 5 penalties for 30 yards while the Trojans had 10 penalties for 60 yards on the night.
The Colonels finish the 2024 season with a (4-7) record.
