The Colonels came away with a 32 point victory against the Castle Knights from Newburgh, Indiana, 69-37, at Colonel Gym in the home opener.
The leading scorers for the Knights was Aiden Meyer with 13 points while Jake Wongler had 12 points. Xander Niehaus had 4 points and 5 rebounds while Connor Richards had 3 points and 4 rebounds. Donavin Williams had 3 points while Carter Bobe had 2 points on the night.
The leading scorers for the Colonels tonight was Elijah Suggs with 17 points, 7 rebounds, 9 blocks, and 4 assists while Dwaine Moss had 12 points and 4 rebounds. Xavion Johnson had 11 points while Lacon McKinney had 10 points and 9 rebounds. Cole Branson had 8 points while Cooper Davenport had 6 points. Jarren Byrum had 3 points while Trajdon Davis scored 2 points on the night.
The Knights shot 6 for 21 (29%) from the 3 point line to the Colonels 6 for 11 (55%). The Knights shot 5 for 8 (63%) from the free throw line to the Colonels 7 for 12 (58%). The Knights had a total of 30 rebounds while the Colonels had 34 total rebounds. The Colonels tallied 14 assists, 10 blocks, and 9 steals. The Knights committed 13 turnovers to the Colonels committing 15 turnovers on the night.
The Colonels improve to (1-1) on the season while the Knights fall to (1-1).
