The Henderson County Lady Colonels suffered their 3rd loss of the season with a, 57-54, loss against the Franklin County Lady Flyers on the road in the championship game of the Lady of the South Invitational Tournament at Allen County-Scottsville High School in Scottsville, Kentucky, last night.
The leading scorers for the Lady Flyers was Logan Kennedy with 12 points and 6 rebounds while Juliana Frazee had 11 points and 6 rebounds. Makiyia Wheeler had 10 points while Madison Jackson had 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Jylin Edmondson scored 8 points while Keyonna Taylor had 7 points and 7 rebounds on the night.
The leading scorers for the Lady Colonels was Brooklyn Gibson with 19 points and 7 rebounds while A’Tylia Green had 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Allyson Rideout had 10 points while Rashia Cansler had 6 points. Addy Gish had 5 points and 3 assists while Anna Kemp tallied 1 point and 6 rebounds on the night.
The Lady Flyers shot 14 for 25 (56%) from the free throw line to the Lady Colonels who were 10 for 14 (71%). The Lady Flyers shot 1 for 5 (20%) from behind the three point line to the Lady Colonels who were 6 for 19 (32%). The Lady Flyers had a total of 28 rebounds while the Lady Colonels had 21 total rebounds in the game. The Lady Colonels recorded 10 assists, 3 steals, and 0 blocks. The Lady Flyers committed 15 turnovers to the Lady Colonels who committed 12 turnovers on the night.
The Lady Colonels fall to (9-3) on the season while the Lady Flyers improve to (10-3).
