The Colonels came away with a win against the Evansville Harrison Warriors, 56-52, at home last night. The Colonels were down 11 in the 3rd quarter and went on a 15-0 run that led to the big win.
The leading scorers for the Warriors was Jay Summitt with 17 points and 12 rebounds while Shane Sims had 17 points and 4 rebounds. Dustin Gerner had 6 points while Brooks Thomas had 4 points and 5 rebounds. Tyrese Harris-Armstead tallied 3 points and 4 rebounds while Kannen Bard scored 3 points. To round out the scoring, Ty Speer added 2 points on the night.
The leading scorers for the Colonels was Lacon McKinney with 17 points and 5 rebounds while Cooper Davenport scored 16 points and recorded 4 assists. Xavion Johnson had 9 points, 5 assists, and 3 rebounds while Dwaine Moss had 7 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Elijah Suggs had 4 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 blocks while Cole Branson had 3 points on the night.
The Warriors shot 7 for 19 (37%) from the 3 point line to the Colonels 7 for 15 (47%). The Warriors shot 1 for 4 (25%) from the free throw line to the Colonels 9 for 16 (56%). The Warriors had a total of 33 rebounds while the Colonels had 20 total rebounds. The Colonels tallied 15 assists, 6 steals, and 5 blocks. The Warriors committed 7 turnovers to the Colonels committing 5 turnovers on the night.
The Colonels improve to (8-3) on the season while the Warriors falls to (5-3).
