Winter Storm Closures


Warming Stations and Storm Shelters:

Henderson County: The Salvation Army, in partnership with the Red Cross and Henderson County Emergency Management Agency has an overnight storm shelter at its facility on Washington Street. Food, cots and other accommodations are available, according to Henderson EOC.

The Gathering Place Henderson Senior Center is a warming station. (If you live in Henderson and would like to volunteer in a warming shelter, email Henderson County WMA Director Kenny Garrett at kgarrett@hendersoncountyky.gov with your contact info.)

Webster County: Providence Community Center, Clay Fire Department, Dixon Community Center, Wheatcroft City Building, Slaughters Fire Department, Onton United Methodist Church, Sebree First Baptist and Poole Fire Department are warming stations.

Education:

Henderson County Schools were already scheduled to be closed Monday, Jan. 6. Additionally, all HCS childcare centers will be closed tomorrow, January 6. The board of education office will be closed with staff working remotely.
In the coming days, officials said it is likely that the school district will be utilizing NTI as its mode of instruction. Please begin to make preparations should we have to do NTI beginning Tuesday, January 7.
Holy Name School was already scheduled to be off Monday, Jan. 6th. Due to the weather, officials asked parents and guardians to have a plan in place for Tuesday, Jan. 7th to be a traditional snow day with no child care.

Union County Public Schools will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th  due to inclement weather. The will have NTI day #2 and APPLES childcare will be closed.

Webster County Schools was already scheduled to be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th. Students are scheduled to return on Tuesday, but officials said any changes to the schedule will be posted on ParentSquare.

Henderson Community College will operate on a remote schedule Monday, Jan. 6) due to inclement weather.
Faculty and staff will work remotely. HCC’s physical campus will be closed.

Government Offices:

The City of Henderson is closing all offices on Monday with the exception of essential services.  City officials said they will send an update about hours of operation on Tuesday at some point on Monday.
HART services will not operate tomorrow.  Those scheduled for dialysis through paratransit will be contacted before their scheduled pickups.
Atkinson Park in Henderson is closed until the snow is cleared.
The City of Corydon City Building will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th. The drop box is available.
The Henderson County Recycling Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
Henderson Water Utility will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th. The Water and Wastewater Plants will be open and operational. Other essential staff will be on call for any water or sewer emergencies. Call 270-826-2824 to report any leaks or service issues.
The Henderson County Courthouse will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th. The decision on whether to reopen the building on Tuesday will be made on Monday afternoon.

The Henderson Judicial Center will be closed Monday January 6 due to inclement weather. Henderson Circuit Court cases (Judge Wilson) will be heard Wednesday January 8 at same time. Henderson Circuit (Family) Court (Judge Curlin) EPO/DVO cases will be held Friday January 10 at 1:30 p.m. Henderson District Court traffic division 2 cases (Judge Newman) will be held Monday January 13 at same time. Union County: The Union County Courthouse, Breckenridge Museum, Senior Citizens, Recycling, Expo Center and Animal Control will all be closed tomorrow, Monday January 6th. The Road department will be out doing what they are great at and that is clearing our roads and making them safe in a timely and efficient manner, according to county officials.
Businesses and Organizations ETC:
As of 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, Gibbs third and first shift production is cancelled due to extreme winter weather. All essential personnel should report to work.
Involvement Inc. will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
Christian Community Outreach is closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
All Henderson Sureway groceries close at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 5th.
Henderson County Extension Office will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
The Gathering Place homebound and congregate meal programs are cancelled for Monday, Jan. 6th. Please use emergency meals.
Accuride has cancelled all production operation for Monday, Jan. 6th. Operations will resume Tuesday, Jan. 7th.
The Henderson County Public Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th.
Union County Senior Services will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th. There will be no meal delivery or transportation available. The office and centers will be closed as well.
St. Anthony’s Hospice will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th. However, they are available to current patients and new patients needing hospice care. If there is a need, call the main line at 270-826-2326. The Lucy Smith King Care Center will remain open as normal.
All Matthew 25 AIDS Services clinics will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th. For emergency needs, please contact 270-860-1287.
Hercules Manufacturing Company production and office operations will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
The Children’s Advocacy Center will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th.
Coffee + Cream will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th.
Farmers Bank will tentatively open from 10-2 Monday, Jan. 6th to serve customers.
Henderson, Kentucky Chamber of Commerce will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th.
EJ Mabry Insurance Agency office will be closed Monday, Jan. 6th.
Elevate will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
Audubon State Park will be closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
Healthcare:
All Health First Community Health Centers are closed on Monday, Jan. 6th.
 Owensboro Health facilities will have the following schedule adjustments on Monday, January 6:
• All Owensboro Health primary care, specialty care and urgent care locations will be closed.
• Wound Care will be closed.
• Urgent care telehealth appointments are available. Learn more at OwensboroHealth.org/Weather.
• Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center will be closed, and appointments will be rescheduled.
• Owensboro Health Regional Hospital lab will be open for walk-in patients. All other outpatient lab locations will be closed.
• Owensboro Health imaging centers will be closed.
• Owensboro Health Home Care will triage patients based on priority.
• Ambulatory Surgery Center and Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center surgery will be closed.
• Community Pharmacy at the Springs will be closed. OHRH Outpatient Pharmacy will be open.
• Healthpark fitness center and therapies will be closed.
• The call center will remain open to take messages and forward them to clinics for follow-up.
– As always, the Emergency Departments will remain open should you need care.
– If you have a scheduled appointment, your provider will contact you to reschedule.

Most Deaconess physician office locations will be CLOSED on Monday, January 6. Offices will contact patients to reschedule. Urgent Care locations will operate as normal.
