Warming Stations and Storm Shelters:

Henderson County: The Salvation Army, in partnership with the Red Cross and Henderson County Emergency Management Agency has an overnight storm shelter at its facility on Washington Street. Food, cots and other accommodations are available, according to Henderson EOC.

The Gathering Place Henderson Senior Center is a warming station. (If you live in Henderson and would like to volunteer in a warming shelter, email Henderson County WMA Director Kenny Garrett at kgarrett@hendersoncountyky.gov with your contact info.)

Robards City Hall is open as a warming station.

Webster County: Providence Community Center, Clay Fire Department, Dixon Community Center, Wheatcroft City Building, Slaughters Fire Department, Onton United Methodist Church, Sebree First Baptist and Poole Fire Department are warming stations.

Union County: Union County Volunteer Fire Department, Morganfield Fire Department, and Sturgis Senior Center are warming stations.

Education:

Henderson County Schools will be closed for a snow day on Tuesday. All childcare centers will be closed.
Holy Name School will be closed for a snow day on Tuesday.
Riverview School will be closed for a snow day Tuesday.

Union County Public Schools will be closed for a snow day on Tuesday.

Webster County Schools will have NTI Day No. 2 of the school year on Tuesday.

Henderson Community College campus will be closed Tuesday. Offices will be open virtually from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Government Offices and Parks:

All City of Henderson offices will reopen on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, and will operate on normal hours. Trash collection will take place with crews working on Monday routes that were missed due to Monday’s cancellation. Sanitation crews will also be collecting as much of the Tuesday route as they can tomorrow. Any resident who normally has their trash collected on Tuesday is asked to place their trash out as normal. Residents are asked to place their limbs near the roadside (NOT in the road or on the sidewalk) and the City will collect those as the weather conditions allow. Please note Henderson Municipal Power & Light is not performing debris removal and any debris cut by the HMP&L crews will be the responsibility of the property owner to move to the curbside for collection. A decision about HART services has not yet been made for Tuesday.

The Henderson County Courthouse will be open Tuesday. All offices will work normal hours except the County Clerk’s Office, which will not open until 10 a.m.

The Judicial Center will be open normal hours tomorrow, Tuesday, January 7 and all dockets will be heard as scheduled. Henderson Circuit Court Juror Orientation is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. in Courtroom 300. Grand Jury orientation will be in Grand Jury Room. If unable to attend, phone 270.826.2405 after 8 a.m. or you may call Circuit Clerk Sutton on his cell between 6:30 a.m.-8:00 a.m. at 270.577.5939.

Atkinson Park in Henderson is closed until the snow is cleared.
Audubon State Park is closed for Tuesday, Jan. 7th.
Businesses and Organizations ETC:
Christian Community Outreach will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 7th.
Matthew 25 AIDS Services will be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 7th. For emergency needs, please contact 270-860-1287.
Gibbs Die Casting resumed third shift operations on Monday night. The business asks that people continue to watch
texts and social media for updates.
Elevate at the Sandefur Center will be closed Tuesday.
Gathering Place homebound and congregate meal programs are canceled for Tuesday. Please use day 2 of your emergency meal supply. The center will be closed as well due to weather and safety concerns.
The Henderson County Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday.
The Henderson County Extension Office will be closed on Tuesday.
