Patsy Gay “Pat” Head Wilson
Patsy Gay “Pat” Head Wilson, age 86, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 8:55 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2025, at her home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice surrounded by her family.
Pat crafted her career in glamour. She first opened two beauty salons, The Townhouse and Trendsetters, then went on to own and operate four beauty colleges, the latest being “Pat Wilson’s Beauty College” here in downtown Henderson, KY. She trained and mentored hundreds of students and future business owners. She served as Chairman of the Board of Cosmetology for the State of KY and was also both a hair stylist and model for various award-winning, notable styling product companies. Pat was active in state politics, traveling to many inaugurations for various politicians throughout KY. It is difficult to truly encapsulate all that Pat has done throughout her life in a few sentences, but in trying to we can say that she lived life unbridled and by her own choices.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ruby Head; husbands, Bob Wilson and Barry Blanford; sister Teddy Kaye Lynn; daughter Jimmie Joe Capps; nephew Chris Cook; and grandson Hunter Shields.
Pat is survived by her daughters, Rhonda (Kent) Dossett and Karen Wilson (Stanley Shields), both of Henderson, KY; brother Roy Joe Head of Providence, KY; nephews David Cook and Tony Head; niece Dana Pence; grandchildren: Christopher Shields, Kristen Dossett, Kent Robert Dossett, Casta Hedrick, and Amanda Tillotson; and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Pat’s Life Celebration from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, and again on Wednesday starting at 9:00 a.m. at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at White Oak Cemetery in Clay, KY.
