The Colonels came away with a win against the Evansville Reitz Panthers, 56-50, at home last night.
The leading scorers for the Panthers was Lavell Tinsley with 14 points and 9 rebounds while Jaylan Mitchell had 11 points, 17 rebounds, and 4 assists. Jayce Swanson had 8 points while Jayden Overton had 7 points. Luke Lawerence tallied 4 points while Preston Tolliver added 4 points. To round out the scoring, Evan Hayes scored 2 points on the night.
The leading scorers for the Colonels was Lacon McKinney with 19 points and 6 rebounds while Xavion Johnson scored 15 points and recorded 7 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 steals, and 3 assists. Dwaine Moss had 8 points and 3 steals while Elijah Suggs had 5 points and 4 rebounds. Amare Stewart tallied 5 points while Cooper Davenport added 4 points on the night.
The Panthers shot 3 for 13 (23%) from the 3 point line to the Colonels 1 for 7 (14%). The Panthers shot 9 for 15 (60%) from the free throw line to the Colonels 17 for 22 (77%). The Panthers had a total of 37 rebounds while the Colonels had 23 total rebounds. The Colonels tallied 8 assists, 9 steals, and 8 blocks. The Panthers committed 12 turnovers to the Colonels committing 8 turnovers on the night.
The Colonels improve to (14-4) on the season while the Panthers fall to (11-2).
