Health First Community Health has partnered with KARE Mobile Dentistry of Louisville to expand access to dental services. Good dental hygiene is an essential part of maintaining your health and wellness. Studies suggest that oral bacteria and the inflammation associated with a severe form of gum disease (periodontitis) might play a role in some diseases. And certain diseases, such as diabetes and HIV/AIDS, can lower the body’s resistance to infection, making oral health problems more severe.
There is a shortage of dentists in our area, many either do not accept new patients or do not accept Medicaid coverage. As a community health center, we are charged with removing barriers to ensure that patients receive the care they need to stay healthy and well. Through this partnership, Dr. Whitney James will travel to Health First locations on a routine basis.
The KARE Mobile dental unit offers convenient care and can provide many of the same services as a brick and mortar location. This includes cleanings, x-rays, fillings, extractions, root canals, crowns, bridges, partials and dentures. They accept Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance and private pay. Financing is available through a third party credit vendor. To schedule an appointment call KARE Mobile directly at 270-290-0895. Individuals should select the #1 option for existing patients to be connected to a live representative with the ability to manually schedule patients at a Health First location. In Henderson, 2025 clinic dates will be: February 13th, May 15th, August 14th and December 10th. This clinic is open to everyone!
