The Colonels came away with a, 66-37, win against the Hopkins County Central Storm at home last night.
The leading scorers for the Storm was Karon Hopson with 6 points and 6 rebounds while Deontay Butcher had 6 points. Blaze Sumner had 5 points while Silas Gunn had 4 points. Cohl Hoard had 4 points and 5 rebounds while Riley Dunlap had 4 points. Davonyae Butcher tallied 3 points while Nyia Peyton contributed 3 points. To round out the scoring, Michael McDaniel added 2 points on the night.
The leading scorers for the Colonels was Elijah Suggs with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 blocks while Xavion Johnson scored 10 points, recorded 10 assists, and grabbed 3 rebounds. Lacon McKinney had 10 points and 7 rebounds while Amare Stewart had 9 points and 3 steals. Travis Little tallied 7 points while Trajdon Davis added 6 points and 6 rebounds. Mikey Woolfork had 4 points and 3 rebounds while Kingston Shidler tallied 4 points. To round out the scoring, JahMarion Isabell added 4 points on the night.
The Storm shot 4 for 18 (22%) from the 3 point line to the Colonels 2 for 13 (15%). The Storm shot 3 for 9 (33%) from the free throw line to the Colonels 8 for 9 (89%). The Storm had a total of 28 rebounds while the Colonels had 33 total rebounds. The Colonels tallied 15 assists, 10 steals, and 8 blocks. The Storm committed 16 turnovers to the Colonels committing 12 turnovers on the night.
The Colonels improve to (19-5) on the season while the Storm fall to (10-14).
