The Henderson County Lady Colonels came away with a, 59-28, win against the Union County Bravettes in the 6th District Championship Game in Morganfield last night.
The Lady Colonels won their 27th District Championship with the win over Union County last night.
The leading scorers for the Bravettes was Paige Steward with 13 points while Bri Bell had 4 points. Dana Curry tallied 4 points and 4 rebounds while Aspen Davis added 2 points and 4 rebounds. Addi Tomayo had 2 points while Miley Mendoza contributed 2 points. To round out the scoring, Brylee Jackson added 1 point on the night.
The leading scorers for the Lady Colonels was Addy Gish with 16 points while Brooklyn Gibson had 8 points and 3 assists. Allyson Rideout had 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals while Rashia Cansler had 7 points and 3 steals. A’Tylia Green had 5 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 steals while Jersey Gardner tallied 5 points and 4 rebounds. Azayah Hall scored 4 points and grabbed 3 rebounds while Anna Kemp had 3 points. To round out the scoring, JaNyla Locher had 3 points and 3 steals on the night.
The Bravettes shot 3 for 4 (75%) from the free throw line to the Lady Colonels who were 8 for 11 (73%). The Bravettes shot 3 for 10 (30%) from behind the three point line to the Lady Colonels who were 5 for 21 (24%). The Bravettes had a total of 17 rebounds while the Lady Colonels had 28 total rebounds in the game. The Lady Colonels recorded 11 assists, 19 steals, and 2 blocks. The Bravettes committed 27 turnovers to the Lady Colonels who committed 12 turnovers on the night.
