Karen Elizabeth Harrison Dicks
Karen Elizabeth Harrison Dicks, age 79, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at Westport Trilogy in Louisville, KY. Karen was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario Canada. Karen began raising her family in Kalispell, MT and moved to Henderson in the early 1970’s and remained there during retirement.
Karen was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church for over 50 years and worked in the after-school program with the children. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, gardening and listening to music. One of her favorite musicians was Gordon Lightfoot. In her younger years, Karen was a homemaker and enjoyed raising her children.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents John Douglas (Doug) and Elizabeth (Betty) Harrison (nee Boyle) and her brothers Paul Harrison and Michael Harrison.
Karen is survived by son John Dicks (Kellee) of Louisville, KY; her daughter Janet Dicks of Hood River, OR; sister Barbara Harrison of Newmarket, Ontario Canada; grandchildren Sydney Stromberg (Nathan) of Tempe, AZ and Ryan Dicks of Louisville, KY; nieces, Catherine Harrison of Oakville Ontario, Liz Vandenbygaart (Bert) of Ottawa Ontario, Sarah Magill (Sean) of Newmarket Ontario; and beloved cousins of the Boyle & Harrison families.
Relatives and friends are invited to Karen’s Life Celebration from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 8:30 until 9:00 a.m. on Monday at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson, KY with Father Richard Meredith officiating.
Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Henderson KY.
