Henderson, Ky. (May 8, 2025) – There’s good news for drivers in Henderson. Extensive improvements to the Adams Lane bridge over U.S. 41 are complete.
The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic on Friday, May 9.
Crews have replaced the superstructure, which includes the beams and bridge deck. Crews also made upgrades to the barrier and guardrail.
The improvements will greatly extend the life of the bridge.
Drivers should look for crews to complete finishing touches at the Adams Lane bridge over the next several weeks. Work will include final asphalt surfacing, drainage boxes, curb and
gutters.
Reopening the bridge will provide another option for drivers impacted by the recent closure of the Airline Road bridge over U.S. 41.
The official detour for Airline Road closure will now be routed to Adams Lanes. Road signs will be installed marking the new detour.
Similar improvements are underway on the Airline Road bridge. The Airline Road bridge is expected to reopen in August.
