Henderson man accused of holding family members at gunpoint over the weekend

A Henderson man was arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly held a family member at gunpoint in their home.

Henderson Police Department said they were dispatched to the 2300 block of Adams Lane at around 9 p.m. Friday. 911 had received a call that Anthony Kirk, 45, of Henderson, had held a family member at gunpoint in their home.

When officers arrived, they were told Kirk had pointed a handgun at two people and told them to get on the ground. The victims were told to put their hands behind their backs and Kirk said he was going to shoot them.

When the victims attempted to leave, Kirk blocked the door. One of the victims received a minor injury while trying to get the handgun away from Kirk.

Officers located Kirk outside of the home and took him into custody. The handgun was found in the home and officers determined it was a replica firearm.

Kirk, who was out on bond on a previous case, was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • First-Degree Wanton Endangerment
  • First-Degree Unlawful Imprisonment
  • Third-Degree Terroristic Threatening
  • Violations of Conditions of Release
