Two juveniles accused of stealing a car


Henderson Police Department arrested two juveniles accused of stealing a car.

At 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27th, officers were called to the 800 block of Powell for a stolen vehicle report. A few minutes later, the stolen car was spotted on a FLOCK Safety camera.

Officers located the car and attempted to stop the driver, but he refused to pull over. When he continued to flee, the officers discontinued their involvement in the stop.

At 3:36 a.m. Tuesday, a 911 caller reported a suspicious car in the 1100 block of Powell. Officers arrived and determined it was the stolen car.

Two occupants, both under the age of 14, were eventually taken into custody by responding officers. They were initially charged with the following:

Suspect #1 (Driver)

  • Fleeing 1st Degree
  • Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or more
  • Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
  • Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree
  • Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree
  • Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
  • Reckless Driving
  • Failure to Signal

Suspect #2 (Passenger)

  • Fleeing or Evading Police1st Degree Class C Felony
  • Receiving Stolen Property $10,000 or more
  • Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
  • Criminal Mischief 2nd Degree
