Henderson County Schools has hired Shane Bosaw as the district’s new Director of Child Nutrition.
“I am honored and excited to join Henderson County Schools as the Director of Child Nutrition,” said Bosaw. “Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to advancing student health and well-being through innovative nutrition programs. I firmly believe in the critical role school meals play in supporting student success and expanding educational opportunities. My goal is to ensure we provide nutritious, appealing meals and deliver exceptional service to all our students and staff. I eagerly anticipate building strong relationships within the school community, exploring innovative ways to enhance our services, and inspiring greatness by nourishing our students and preparing them to thrive.”
Bosaw brings a wealth of experience in public service and child nutrition, most recently serving as the Director of Food Services and Wellness Coordinator for Union County Schools.
During his tenure in Union County, Bosaw led several key initiatives to enhance student wellness and nutrition. His leadership included ensuring Smart Snacks compliance, strengthening engagement within the district’s Wellness Committee, launching elementary nutrition education programs, and expanding Farm to School efforts.
Bosaw brings over 24 years of experience in the Kentucky Executive and Judicial branches of government, with extensive oversight of state and federal programs administered by the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE), Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA), and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Administration of Justice and a Master of Science in Criminology, Nutrition, and Antisocial Behavior, both from the University of Louisville.
Bosaw will begin his role with Henderson County Schools on July 1st, replacing Paige O’Nan, the current Director of Child Nutrition.
“We are pleased to welcome Shane Bosaw to Henderson County Schools,” said Superintendent Bob Lawson. “His commitment to student wellness and his experience with nutrition programs at both the state and local levels make him an outstanding addition to our leadership team.”
