I69 work in Henderson will be complete this year

The new interchange at US 60 is expected to open late this summer. It includes three roundabouts. The two roundabouts to the west provide access on and off I-69 and carry traffic east and west along US 60. The eastern roundabout connects Tillman Bethel Road with U.S. 60.

A lane restriction at the U.S. 60 interchange is expected to continue until late June.

Crews are rehabilitating the U.S. 60 bridge over CSX, widening and realigning the roadway, and working on drainage, curbs and sidewalks.

This spring, the ORX project team took part in Tri-Fest in downtown Henderson and was available to answer questions and share progress.

Attendees were able to view progress videos and photos, review maps, pick up project handouts, and get Roundabout Ready pens, coasters and stickers.

Progress on Section 3 of the I-69 Ohio River Crossing continues in Evansville. Ground was broken in September 2024, and new approach roadways and bridges are taking shape.

Since breaking ground, over 50,000 cubic yards of permanent embankment have been placed and over 5,500 cubic yards of concrete have been poured.

Nine miles of steel pile have been driven into the ground, foundations for 29 of the 47 piers are complete, and earthwork ramped up again this spring along I-69.

What to Expect in Evansville Summer/Fall 2025:

  • Bridge beams will be set; concrete decks will be poured; placement of embankment fill
  • Late 2025: Project 60% complete
  • Late 2026: Construction complete
