Henderson County Schools has hired Candice Parsley as the district’s new Director of Special Education.
“I am truly honored and excited to step into the role of Director of Special Education for Henderson County Schools,” Parsley said. “As someone who is already deeply invested in the success of our district, I look forward to continuing to serve our students, families, and staff while building on the strong foundation already in place. I am committed to advancing the legacy of excellence in special education and ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive.”
Parsley has been with Henderson County Schools since 2023 as a special education building coach at North Middle School. She was previously the lead special education teacher at Union County Middle School for eight years.
Parsley received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Marshall University and a Master of Arts in Special Education from Kentucky State University. Parsley also holds a Director of Special Education-Level II from Campbellsville University.
“Mrs. Parsley brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to student success. We are excited to have her join our leadership team as the new Special Education Director,” said Henderson County Schools Superintendent Bob Lawson.
Parsley will begin her role on July 1.
