Henderson, KY (July 1, 2025) – Crews will move the temporary signals on US 60 this week, greatly shortening the distance that US 60 is restricted to a single lane of traffic. On or after Wednesday, July 2, crews are expected to move the traffic signals now located near Tillman Bethel Road and Morris Drive from one end of the CSX overpass bridge to the other. Short-term flagging will be needed to move the signals and for paving at Tillman Bethel.
The new signal location and shorter limits for single-lane traffic should help alleviate traffic back-ups and delays. The right-turn only restriction in place at Tillman Bethel Road will also be lifted when the signals move, allowing traffic to go east or west on US 60 using the easternmost roundabout under construction.
Later this month, crews expect to be able to remove the temporary signals altogether and soon after reopen Morris Drive. The Morris Drive closure has limited access to the Hillcrest neighborhood to the eastern entrance.
During the closures, crews have been rehabilitating the US 60 bridge over CSX, widening and realigning the roadway, and working on drainage, curbs and sidewalks.
The new US 60 interchange is expected to open to traffic in its final configuration late this summer.
