Man killed after being struck by train

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a train struck and killed a man late Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies responded to an emergency call around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday for a train versus person collision at the Schuette Lane train track intersection in the southern part of Henderson County.

When deputies arrived on scene, they located the deceased individual. An investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to a news release.

Henderson Police Department, Deaconess EMS, volunteer firefighters from multiple departments and Henderson EMA also responded at the scene.
