Ronald Wade Nunn
Ronald Wade Nunn, age 85, of Henderson, KY, passed away at 1:36 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, IN.
Ron married Anita Doss on September 12, 1958, at Bennett Memorial United Methodist Church in Henderson, KY, where he taught Sunday school for many years. Ron and Anita were married for 65 years prior to her passing in April 2024. Ron retired from Phillips Lighting (formerly Westinghouse) where he worked in sales for 30 years. In retirement, he worked part-time at Murray State’s Henderson campus where he built close relationships with students who attended night classes. Ron was a Past Master of Henderson’s Jerusalem Masonic Lodge #9, where he was an active member for many years and received his 50-year pin. He enjoyed playing tennis, watching sports and staying connected with his grandchildren. His beloved quote was “What you do for yourself dies with you, what you do for other people lives on long after you are gone”.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents Wade Nunn and Lattie Hollander, wife Anita Nunn, sister Peggy Fitzgerald, and great-grandson Keaton Mathis.
Ron is survived by his daughters: Bonnie Boom of Henderson, KY, Kathy McCoy (Chris) of Prospect, KY, and Tammy Below (Scott) of Oviedo, FL; son Bill Nunn (Teresa) of Henderson, KY; sister Bernadine Fulcher of Newburgh, IN; 9 grandchildren: Brandon Boom (Jessica), Kristin Mathis (Mike Wethington), Corey McCoy (Erin), Matt McCoy (Jillian Belmonte), Weston Below (Andrea Vanegas), Tanner Below (Ashley Peter), Addy Oliver (Zach), Lauren Nunn, and Chelsea Hixenbaugh (Austin), and 9 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to Ron’s Life Celebration from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:00 a.m. until the service time on Saturday, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the funeral home with Reverend Mary Wrye officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson, KY.
A masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the funeral home.
