The Airline Road overpass bridge at U.S. 41 is scheduled to reopen Wednesday evening.
According to a news release, the bridge closed in late April for crews to complete extensive improvements, according to a news release.
They’ve replaced the superstructure, which includes the beams and bridge deck. Crews have also upgraded the barrier and guardrail.
Crews prioritized reopening the bridge prior to the start of school. Henderson County School students return to class on Thursday, Aug. 7.
Kentucky 351/Second Street
Crews have also prioritized progress at Kentucky 351/Second Street for the start of the school year. Construction barrels are coming down, and Kentucky 351 is expected to be open to two lanes of traffic during the morning and afternoon hours to facilitate school drop off and dismissal.
Single lane restrictions will continue at Kentucky 351/2nd Street during non-peak hours through late October to complete work on the Henderson gateway signage and other punch list items at the reconfigured interchange.
All schedules are dependent on weather and other factors and are subject to change.
