Henderson County Outstanding Alumni Awards are now accepting applications.

The Henderson Outstanding Alumni Awards program is a way to recognize graduates of a Henderson County high school and their achievements. Applications are due by September 28, 2025.

One to three people will be recipients of the Alumni Hall of Fame award.

Criteria include:

  • Must be a graduate of any High School in Henderson County
  • Must have been formally nominated by themselves or someone else, not on the selection committee or organizing committee.
  • Must be 10 years past graduation.
  • Has done important work and been recognized in their respective fields or their community.
  • Have made a positive influence on a large scale in business, the arts, science, education, military, community service, etc.

There is also the Outstanding Young Alumni Award that may be given to one recipient each year.

Criteria include:

  • Must be a graduate of any High School in Henderson County
  • Must have been formally nominated by themselves or someone else, not on the selection committee or organizing committee.
  • Must be 5 years past graduation and no older than 40 years old at the time of induction.
  • Has done important work and been recognized in their respective fields or their community.
  • Have made a positive influence on a large scale in business, the arts, science, education, military, community service, etc.

 

Selection Committee Criteria:

  • No Henderson County High School employee should be involved in the selection decision.
  • No selection committee member should serve two concurrent years.

 

The selection committee should consist of five (5) Henderson County Community members, including one (1) representative from the following groups:

  • Representative of Henderson City or County Government
  • Member of the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce or Economic Development
  • Henderson County Board of Education/Central Office
  • Henderson County High School Student Body (precedence should be given to the Senior Class President)
  • At-Large Member (Current resident of Henderson and graduate of Henderson High School)
