Jerry Stanley
Jerry Stanley, age 84, of Henderson, KY, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Cypress Grove Rehabilitation Center in Newburgh, IN.
Jerry was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran actively serving in Vietnam during his enlistment. He was an aircraft mechanic repairing helicopters. After his deployment, he worked for Local #37 Insulators Union as an installer. He enjoyed NASCAR, especially driver Jimmy Johnson. He always had a passion for cars and mechanics and opened his own Sinclair gas station/repair shop in Chandler, Indiana. He was a firearm enthusiast and participated in Cowboy Quick Draw competitions. He was an avid UK sports fan, Celtics basketball, loving Larry Byrd and all college sports. He looked forward to watching Monday Night WWE Raw with his grandsons, Treyce and Hunter. Although it was past their bedtime, he always convinced Cynthia to let them stay up.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents John and Ollie Stanley, his son Jon Stanley, and his sister Betty.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 57 years Cynthia Stanley of Henderson, KY; son Scott Stanley and his wife Kathryn; sister Judy Cunningham and her husband Ed; brother Danny Stanley; grandchildren: Hunter Stanley, Treyce Stanley, Eli Stanley, Ashton Stanley, Abigail Stanley, and Ellie Stanley; great-grandchildren: Bentley Stanley, Braelynn Stanley, Baylee Stanley, Rey Stanley, Samuel Sparrow, and Roselyn Stanley.
Relatives and friends are invited to Jerry’s Life Celebration from 11:00 a.m. until service time on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Benton-Glunt & Tapp Funeral Home in Henderson, KY. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Tom Belt will officiate. Military honors will be rendered by the American Legion Worsham Post #40. Burial will be held at a later date.
