HENDERSON, Ky. — Despite piling up more than 400 yards of total offense, Henderson County couldn’t keep pace with McCracken County’s explosive passing attack Friday night, falling 55-42 in a back-and-forth Class 6A district battle.
HCHS junior Quarterback Brody Belt led the Colonel offense with 216 yards passing and three touchdowns on through the air while also adding 43 yards rushing on five carries. Jack Ryan Reusch contributed 31 rushing yards and a three rushing touchdowns.

Reusch also led Henderson with three receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown. Zer Marigny added a touchdown on 43 yards and two catches. Christian Haygan also hauled in his only reception for an 11-yard TD.
The Colonels finished with 429 total yards (213 rushing, 216 passing) and 21 first downs, but a lone turnover and missed opportunities proved costly.

McCracken County’s offense was just as potent, racking up 518 total yards behind their bell cow Landon Newman, who tallied 27 carries, 212 yards and three touchdowns. The Mustangs’ passing game added 252 yards from signal caller Maddox O’Neal’s 12-for-17 night that resulted in four touchdowns. Three of O’Neal’s four touchdowns were hauled in by Jamari Meachem, who finished with 143 yards receiving. The remaining touchdown found Reed Brookshire.
McCracken moved the chains 21 times, converted 5-of-8 third downs, and did not commit a turnover in the win.

With the loss, Henderson County drops to 4-5 overall and 1–2 in district play heading into next week’s regular season finale at Owensboro (7-2). Tonight’s loss also secured the fact that Henderson’s first round playoff game will indeed be on the road. John Elliott’s Colonels will look to bounce back and find momentum heading into the playoffs, next Friday at Rash Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
