
OWENSBORO, Ky. —Henderson County’s regular season came to a tough close Friday night as the Colonels fell 65-3 on the road to powerhouse Owensboro (9-2).
The Red Devils dominated from the opening kickoff, scoring nine total touchdowns for a team total of 558 yards of offense (295 rushing, 263 passing). Junior QB Damarcus Ganaway finished with 218 yards and three passing TD’s, while also adding one rushing score. Vanderbilt commit, RB Evan Hampton scored three times on the ground, tallying 198 yards on nine carries. King Dillard led all receivers with four receptions for 75 yards and two TD’s.


As for the Colonels, their lone points came courtesy of Miles Pryor’s 40-yard field goal in the first quarter, that capped a 16-play, 7 minute drive. Henderson County struggled to find any offensive momentum, totaling 83 yards of offense (31 rushing, 52 passing) in the loss.
With the loss, Henderson County finishes the regular season 4-6. The Colonels now set sight on their first round matchup of the Class 6A Playoffs. Next Friday, November 7th the Colonels travel to Brandenburg to take on Meade County. Kickoff from Hamilton Field is set for 6 p.m. and can be heard on WSON.
