PADUCAH, Ky. — Henderson County is headed to the Class 6A Quarterfinals after a thrilling 41–34 playoff victory Friday night at McCracken County, a game that saw the Colonels control the ground game early and make key defensive stands late. The victory made it back-to-back road playoff wins for the Colonels, a feat last achieved in 2006.

Henderson County relied heavily on its rushing attack, piling up over 240 yards on the ground and finishing with 344 total yards of offense. Junior Jack Dalton delivered all night, finishing with 137 yards rushing on 24 carries and four rushing touchdowns. Quarterback play was steady as well, with the Colonels adding nearly 100 passing yards and a touchdown through the air courtesy of Brody Belt. Belt also added 77 rushing yards on 12 carries, including the game-winning TD scored in the final 30 seconds of the game.

Henderson moved the ball efficiently, converting 50% of third downs, matching a strong McCracken offense that totaled 415 yards and kept stride with the Colonels until the fourth quarter. The Mustangs leaned on a balanced attack—168 rushing yards and 247 through the air—with several big plays keeping them within striking distance.
A late defensive stand by the Colonels sealed the win, including two sacks and a forced fumble by junior DE Christian Haygan. Henderson’s ability to control the tempo, force three turnovers, and finish drives proved to be the difference in a high-energy playoff atmosphere.

With the victory, Henderson County moves on to the Elite Eight, carrying momentum and confidence after winning one of its most complete games of the season. The Colonels (6-6) will collide with undefeated South Warren (12-0) next Friday, November 21st. The Spartans knocked off Hopkinsville, 55-13, in their 2nd Round matchup Friday night. Kickoff from Bowling Green is set for 7pm.
