Eddie Vaught has announced his candidacy for Henderson County Jailer.

He said he brings with him “a deep commitment to public safety, accountability, and community service.”

“With years of experience in law enforcement and corrections, I understand the importance of running a secure, efficient, and rehabilitative detention center that serves both the inmates and the citizens of Henderson County,” Vaught said.

He added, “I believe that the role of Jailer is not just about maintaining order—it’s about leadership, integrity, and creating pathways for positive change. I am dedicated to improving facility operations, enhancing staff training, and expanding programs that reduce recidivism and support inmate rehabilitation. My vision includes stronger partnerships with local agencies, better mental health resources for staff, and a renewed focus on transparency and fiscal responsibility.”

Vaught is a lifelong resident of Henderson County. He said he knows the values that matter most to our community.

“I am ready to serve with honesty, compassion, and a steady hand—ensuring that our jail reflects the standards and strength of the people it protects,” Vaught said.
