Holiday Food Drive with Henderson Christian Community Outreach

Henderson, Ky. – The I-69 Ohio River Crossing project team is partnering with Henderson Christian Community Outreach to support local families in need.

Beginning this Thursday, the first 150 people to donate food items will receive an ORX medallion as a token of appreciation, according to a news release.

“The community has been so supportive of the ORX work in Henderson,” said Emily Deason, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet project manager. “By working with Henderson Christian Community Outreach, this is a way to give back. We hope these project mementos will encourage people to drop off food items and help others this holiday season.”

Donations can be dropped off at HCCO, located at 509 Fifth Street in Henderson, starting Thursday, Nov. 20. The pantry is open weekly for donations from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday through Friday. HCCO will be closed Wednesday, Nov. 26 through Friday, Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

“Every contribution, big or small, helps brighten the holiday season for families in need,” said Susan Smith, director of HCCO. “We’re grateful for the generosity of our community and support of the ORX team.”
