BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Henderson County’s postseason run came to an end Friday night as the Colonels fell 49–21 to undefeated South Warren in the Class 6A Quarterfinals. Despite several big-play moments and a strong offensive showing through the air, Henderson County couldn’t slow down the Spartans’ balanced attack, closing the season at 6–7.
Junior Quarterback Brody Belt led the Colonels with one of his most productive outings of the year, throwing for 215 yards and two touchdowns on 15-of-24 passing, adding a lone interception. His top target, Hezi Harris, was electric all night, hauling in 7 receptions for 133 yards and a touchdown. Harris also made an impact defensively, recording an interception that led to one of his TD receptions.

The Colonels’ other touchdown came from Avant Baxter, who broke free on his only carry of the game for a 6-yard score, capping a short-field drive in the 4th Quarter.
As a team, Henderson County finished with 54 rushing yards, 215 passing yards, and 269 total yards against one of the state’s top defenses.

South Warren, now 13–0, leaned on efficiency and explosiveness to build separation. Spartan QB Cam Page threw for 148 yards and a touchdown on 10-of-12 passing while adding three rushing scores. Jake Carter totaled 81 yards receiving and a touchdown, plus a rushing TD, and Justin Capps added 73 yards and a score through the air. South Warren finished with 435 total yards—218 passing and 217 rushing.
Though the Colonels fought until the final whistle, the Spartans’ depth and big-play ability made the difference as the game wore on.

Henderson County closes its season with a playoff run defined by growth, grit, and the emergence of several young playmakers. With Belt, Harris, Christian Haygan, Jack Dalton and a core of returning contributors gaining valuable postseason experience, the future remains bright for Colonel football under head coach John Elliott.
