Two people were arrested in connection with an attempted robbery that occurred on First Avenue in Evansville.
Evansville Police Officers were dispatched to the 4600 block of North First Avenue in reference to an assault in progress on Tuesday. The 911 caller reported that two people had attacked a male victim at this location before leaving the scene.
Officers arrived and met with two victims who stated they met the suspects at this location to sell a computer. During the transaction, one of the suspects attempted to forcefully take the computer without paying for it.
A female victim received minor injuries during the altercation.
Donya L. Hughes, 23, was identified as one of the suspects and a description of his vehicle was provided. Officers located Hughes’ vehicle and conducted a felony car stop in the 700 block of Ridgeway Avenue.
Due to the nature of the crime. Hughes, along with Isaiah I. Edinburgh, 25, were taken into custody. Hughes and Edinburgh were taken to EPD Headquarters for questioning before being transported to the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center and charged with robbery.
