The Henderson County Lady Colonels (2-3) dropped a 65-50 decision to O’Fallon Township, Illinois (6-3) on Saturday night at McCracken County’s Holiday Hoopla Classic.
O’Fallon set the tone early, leading 23-21 after the first quarter and extending the advantage to 37-29 by halftime. The Panthers continued to stretch the lead in the third, taking a 53-40 cushion into the final period and closing out the win.
O’Fallon’s Josie Christopher turned in a standout performance, knocking down eight three-pointers on her way to a game-high 34 points.
Henderson County was led by senior A’Tylia Green, who scored 25 points to pace the Lady Colonels. JaNyla Locher added seven points, while Addy Gish, Callie Burnett, and Maggee Melvin finished with four apiece. Jersey Gardner and Kenley Evans each scored three.
The Lady Colonels return to action Monday night on the road, traveling to Castle with tipoff set for 7 p.m.
