Henderson County used a strong defensive effort to pull away from district rival Union County Friday night, earning a 49-34 home win.
The Colonels fell behind early, trailing 7-4 after the first quarter, but settled in offensively to take an 18-12 lead into halftime. Henderson continued to build separation in the second half, leading 34-26 after three and closing out the Braves with a strong fourth quarter.
Travis Little led the way with 16 points. Zayden Martin and Xavion Johnson each added 10, while Amare Stewart and MaLaikye Taylor finished with four apiece. Braden Williams and Mikey Woolfork rounded out the scoring with two points each.
Henderson County improves to 14-4 on the season and is back in action Tuesday night on the road at Reitz.
