UPDATE:
PREVIOUS:
Henderson County Water District has issued a boil water advisory following a water main break that occurred at the intersection of Melody Lane and Tilman Bethel Road.
Crews were on site making emergency repairs on Monday evening . Officials said they are also working on a water leak in Robards.
When water service is restored, the following areas will be under a boil water advisory until further notice:
All customers on Melody Lane. 3696 to 4125 Melody Lane
Please boil any water used for drinking or human consumption to a rolling boil for one to three minutes then cool before using. Also dump any ice in icemakers.
Once satisfactory bacteriological results are obtained a second notice will be issued when the boil advisory can be lifted.
Typically, this takes anywhere from 24 to 72 hours. HCWD said it will make every effort to limit the amount of time customers are without service and under a boil water advisory.
No contamination is suspected. Boil water advisories are issued in an abundance of caution to protect our most susceptible customers.
If you have any questions, please call HCWD at 270-826-9802 during business hours Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The 24/7 emergency line direct number is 270-860-9731.
Please run cold water taps for a few minutes to clear any air or discolored water from your waterlines.
HCWD asks that all customers drip your cold water faucets at a pencil lead stream to prevent your meter from freezing. When the water pipe freezes, it risks staff safety getting out to unfreeze lines.
Staff can only get running water to your meter. Customers are responsible from that point to their premise plumbing to unfreeze.
HCWD offices are closed Tuesday due to weather conditions. They hope to reopen Wednesday.
