Henderson, KY – United Way of Henderson County is celebrating 2-1-1 Day on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with a community Open House that puts the spotlight on one of the easiest and most impactful ways neighbors can find help: 2-1-1.
The Open House will take place from 3 -5 p.m. at United Way of Henderson County, 428 Second Street, and is open to the public. This casual, come-and-go event invites the community to stop by, enjoy local snacks, grab United Way gear, and learn how 2-1-1 connects individuals and families to the help they need, right when they need it.
2-1-1 is a free, confidential, three-digit phone number and service available 24/7 across the United States and Canada. By calling or texting 2-1-1, individuals are connected to trained community resource specialists who provide referrals to essential, non-emergency health and human services, including food, housing, utility assistance, disaster recovery, and crisis support.
“UNITED IS THE WAY means showing up,” said Riley Hamilton, Board Chair of United Way of Henderson County. “2-1-1 is a perfect example of meeting a need. It’s one simple call that can lead to food on the table, lights staying on, or support during a tough moment. That’s impact we’re proud of.”
During the Open House, guests can learn more about United Way’s four focus areas—Health, Education, Financial Stability, and Workforce Development—and see how community investments are improving lives across Henderson County. Attendees will also have the chance to decorate their own United Way t-shirts, hats, or tote bags and take home United Way yard signs and garden flags to use during the upcoming “Where Is United Way?” Hunt Across Henderson.
United Way of Henderson County’s mission is to invest, connect, and empower Henderson County through proven programs that strengthen families and communities. By uniting people, businesses, and local organizations, United Way is improving lives and ensuring Henderson remains a friendly place where people can work, live, and play.
Parking for the event is available behind the building by entering off Ingram Street and coming through the alley behind Nu-Look, along the fence at Walgreens, or via street parking on Ingram Street, 1st Street, and 2nd Street. Guests are asked to enter through the front door; handicap-accessible entry is available at the rear of the building.
