Henderson County came from behind to defeat the Crittenden County Lady Rockets 48-39 Thursday night at Colonel Gym.
Henderson led 13-12 after the first quarter, but foul trouble quickly became a factor. Addy Gish and JaNyla Locher each picked up two fouls in the opening period and sat out the entire second quarter. Crittenden took advantage, building a 23-18 halftime lead.
The Lady Rockets pushed the margin to eight early in the third, but Henderson responded and trimmed the deficit to 35-33 after three. The Lady Colonels then clamped down defensively, holding Crittenden to just one made field goal in the fourth quarter to pull away for the nine-point win.
Henderson finished 9-of-17 from the free-throw line and 5-of-12 from three-point range. Crittenden went 10-of-14 at the line and 5-of-18 from beyond the arc. The Lady Rockets edged Henderson on the glass 32-29, and turnovers were nearly even with Henderson committing 9 to Crittenden’s 10.
