Man and juvenile charged after a shots fired incident in Evansville


A man and juvenile were taken into custody on firearm related charges following an investigation by Evansville Police Department.

Detectives with the Adult Investigation Unit and the Street Crimes United began an investigation on Feb. 1 into a shots fired run in the 1600 block of Jackson Ave. On Tuesday, detectives conducted a car stop in reference to the investigation.

One adult, Dyawn D. Griffin, 31, of Evansville, and one juvenile were taken into custody after multiple firearms were located inside the vehicle.

Griffin was charged with Dangerous Control of a Firearm, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm, Failure to Signal and Obstructed License Plate. The juvenile involved was charged with Child in Possession of Firearm.
