In an emotional signing ceremony, Henderson County High School football standout Jack Ryan Rush announced his commitment to continue his education and football career at Georgetown College. Surrounded by teammates, coaches, and family, Reusch reflected on the journey that led him to this pivotal moment.
Growing up with a strong connection to Georgetown College, Reusch’s decision was heavily influenced by his father, Ryan Reusch, who played there in 1990. “We’ve been going to Georgetown college football games for all my life,” Reusch shared. “Just being there, it feels like home from day one.” This deep-rooted connection made the choice to join the Tigers an easy one for him.
The turnout at the signing ceremony was heartwarming, with support pouring in from various corners of the community. “I’m blessed,” Reusch said, expressing gratitude for the presence of his former basketball teammates and coaches. “It means everything to me for all these people coming out and supporting me and my family.”
As he embarks on this new chapter, Reusch is also considering his academic future. He plans to study exercise science while balancing his commitments as a member of the football team. When asked about wearing his father’s number 49 or opting for his number 9 he wore as a Colonel linebacker with a chance to start, Reusch confidently chose to follow in his father’s footsteps, stating, “I’m gonna have to go with start.”
