A Henderson teen has been awarded a prestigious college scholarship.
Henderson County High School Senior Sophie Pressley was one of 16 students awarded Western Kentucky University’s Cherry Presidential Scholarship.
Students with a minimum 3.8 unweighted high school GPA and a minimum composite 30 ACT or 1360 SAT qualify to compete for WKU’s most prestigious scholarship, the Cherry Presidential Scholarship.
The scholarship is valued at $16,000 annually and worth $64,000 over a four-year period.
The Cherry Presidential Scholarship is automatically renewable with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 at the end of the spring semester.
The Cherry Presidential Scholarship is renewable for up to eight semesters of full-time undergraduate study or receipt of a bachelor’s degree, whichever occurs first.
Pressley plans to major in Business Economics in the Gordon Ford College of Business.
