Kentucky State Police Post 2 Investigating Fatal Collision in Christian County


HOPKINSVILLE, Ky.– A Clarksville, Tennessee man was killed this weekend after his sedan collided with a semi-truck in Hopkinsville.

Christian County Dispatch contacted Kentucky State Police Dispatch at approximately 6 p.m. Saturday to request assistance with a fatal collision at the 4800 block of Fort Campbell Boulevard in Hopkinsville.

A preliminary investigation indicates a semi-truck and trailer operated by Gerasimos Livieratos, 36, of Chicago, was traveling southbound and attempted to make a U-turn when a northbound sedan, operated by Bernice Franklin, 33, of Clarksville, Tennessee, collided with the trailer of the semi.

Franklin was pronounced deceased at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.

Livieratos was arrested and charged with reckless driving, failure to or improper signal, improper turning, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of a substance, and vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs/substance.

He was lodged in the Christian County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing and is being led by Trooper Nathan Pedigo and Trooper Ethan Garrison of the Kentucky State Police.
