HENDERSON, KY — The City of Henderson and Henderson County have officially opened the 2026 City/County Grant Cycle, providing funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations serving residents across the community.
This collaborative funding initiative offers a single, unified online application, designed to streamline the process and increase accessibility for local organizations seeking support for impactful programs and services.
While the funds are administered by the City of Henderson and Henderson County, United Way of Henderson County is partnering to support and enhance the application process, helping ensure clarity, accessibility, and community engagement.
Eligible nonprofit organizations may apply for up to $15,000 from the City and $15,000 from the County, for a maximum combined request of $30,000.
“This grant cycle is an opportunity to invest directly in the programs that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of Henderson County residents,” said Kelsi Dunham Johnston, Executive Director of United Way of Henderson County. “We are working together to support organizations that strengthen our community and create lasting impact.”
The grant is open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that provide services benefiting City of Henderson and/or Henderson County residents. Eligible programs may include initiatives focused on food access, housing and homelessness services, youth programming, health and wellness, domestic violence support, and economic mobility.
Applications will be reviewed by a 12-member Allocations Review Team made up of City representatives, County representatives, and community members, and chaired by Jack Brewer. As part of the review process, applicants may be invited to participate in interviews or site visits.
The application is now open and will close on MONDAY, April 6, 2026 at 5:00 PM (CT). Late submissions will not be considered.
Organizations receiving funding will be required to complete a 6-month report by January 29, 2027, outlining program impact, financial use of funds, and community reach.
