What is your name:
Adam L. Blythe
What office are you seeking?
City Commissioner
What is your age:
45
Family Background:
I am married to my wife, Kim Blythe, and we have two children—Cole (8) and Charlie (4). We also have a Boxer named Ellie, who is very much part of our family.
Educational Background:
As a young man, I was helping open and operate a pizza shop, often making orders early in the morning before school. Some days required me to stay late or handle large orders, and I didn’t take school attendance as seriously as I should have. That led to being removed from school, which was a difficult but important lesson.
I entered the workforce full-time and built my career from working from the ground up. And through hard work and experience. I was able to climb the ladder with every company I worked for.
A few years ago, I went back and earned my GED. My path may not have been traditional, but it shows that it’s never too late to finish what you start.
I’m also a graduate of Henderson Leadership Initiative
And have several Certificates and Certifications
Previous Political Office:
No, I have not previously held elected office.
Professional Background:
I am a business development and operations leader with over 20 years of experience driving revenue growth, improving operations, and building high-performing teams across both retail and B2B environments.
- Business Development (currently)
- EEMSCO – Business Development Director
- T-Mobile USA – Retail Store Manager / District Operations Lead
- Circuit City – Store Director / District Manager
Why are you running for office?
I am running because I believe the people of Henderson deserve leadership that works for them—not for insiders, not for special interests, and not for political convenience.
Over time, I have watched decisions made that lacked transparency, accountability, and a clear focus on protecting residents. From the handling of the water meter issue, to concerns around leadership accountability, to policy changes that raised questions about fairness, I saw a pattern that made it clear something needs to change.
Leadership should stand between the people and the problem—not the other way around. That belief is what led me to step forward and run.
If elected, what are your top three goals?
1. Transparency in Government
Residents deserve to understand how and why decisions are made. I will push for more open discussion in meetings, greater visibility into board appointments, contracts, and city business, and clearer communication with the public.
2. Public Safety Investment
Our police and fire departments need additional staffing, better training, and more competitive pay. We must ensure we can recruit and retain high-quality first responders to keep our community safe.
3. Economic Growth and Development
Henderson is well-positioned for growth. I will work to attract private investment, including family-friendly attractions that draw visitors from nearby cities like Nashville, Louisville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and St. Louis. I also want to revitalize vacant commercial properties so they contribute to our local economy and tax base.
Why should people vote for you?
Because I will fight for them.
I didn’t spend my life trying to become a politician. I’ve spent it working, raising a family, and building a career—just like many of the people in this community.
What I’ve seen in recent years is a growing disconnect between leadership and the people they serve. Too often, it feels like decisions are made to protect the system or insiders rather than the residents. That needs to change.
I believe leadership should:
- Fight for accountability when mistakes are made
- Protect residents before protecting systems
- Follow the rules—not rewrite them for convenience
- Operate with transparency so the public can see how decisions are made
I am also making a clear commitment: I will not accept campaign donations.
Money has influenced politics for too long. I want every resident to know that no donor, no special interest group, and no backroom deal will ever have more influence than the people of Henderson.
This campaign is about restoring trust. It’s about bringing integrity back to leadership and ensuring that city government serves everyone—not just a select few.
I believe in this community, and I am ready to step forward and fight for it.
