Brad Schneider – Henderson County Judge-Executive Candidate

Henderson, KY, USA / WSON AM & FM

Brad Schneider - Henderson County Judge-Executive Candidate
What is Your Name: Brad Schneider
What office are you seeking: Judge-Executive
Family background: Wife of nearly 30 years, Kelly Schneider (a Henderson native), sons Ben and Nick (both Henderson natives), grandson Bentley (son of Nick)
Education background: Bachelors of Science if Communications from the University of Evansville.
Have you held political office previously? If so, what office(s) and when did you hold the office(s)? I have been judge-executive since 2016.
Professional Background: After graduating from the UE I worked for newspapers in the Tri-State region for 20 years before becoming president of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce in 2009. In 2014 I was named CEO of Kyndle, a four-county regional economic development agency headquartered in Henderson. I held that position until March of 2016, when I was appointed JE after my predecessor Hugh McCormick died in office. I have re-elected three times since, once unopposed and two times by wide margins. Currently I serve on the boards of the Henderson Leadership Initiative, Henderson County Cooperative Extension, Henderson County Farm Bureau, I-69 BridgeLink, Kentuckians for Better Transportation, the Kentucky Coal and Mineral Counties Coalition, the Kentucky Judge_executives Association, the Green River Area Development District, Henderson Economic Development and the West Kentucky Coalition   In the past I have served on the board of directors of Henderson PCMA youth baseball, the Methodist Hospital Foundation and the Henderson Community College Foundation. I am also the co-founder of the Henderson’s Dia de Los Muertos cultural festival.
Why are you running for office: I’m running for office to continue the strong record of success the county has experienced over the last decade and to make sure we fully capitalize on the tremendous opportunities we’ll have in the next 10 years. Just in the last five years there have been more than $1 billion in public and private investments in Henderson County and the announcements of more than 800 new jobs. I’m running to help continue that growth and all the civic good that comes with it – more opportunity, better wages, more reasons for folks to move here, better community amenities, better housing options and stronger schools.
Goals:
1. Continue to manage the county finances well enough to provide government services with a quality and consistency that people expect while also not increasing county government tax rates a single penny.
2.Help assure the completion of the I-69 bridge while also securing the retention of both twin bridges for free use by local commuters.
3. Help fill the large build-ready pad at 4 Star Industrial Park with a significant employer.
3a. Help assure all renewable energy projects are dealt with in ways that strictly adhere to our local planning and zoning laws, including those that give local citizens the chance to have their opinions heard publicly and taken into consideration by Fiscal Court and the Planning Commission.
People should vote for me because I am the only candidate who has a proven track record of success in a very complicated and demanding position that includes the day-to-day management of a $42 million budget for an organization of nearly 200 employees. During my tenure, Fiscal Court has also forged a cooperative and collaborative relationship with city government that has been a key factor in the success of several community initiatives and also played a major role in recent local economic development victories. It has taken a decade to bring the county from the verge of financial ruin to its current place as a county with one of the strongest balance sheets in the entire state. Those resources have allowed us to help make important, long-lasting improvements for our citizens. I want to keep all that momentum going. I humbly ask for the votes of Henderson County Republicans in the May 19 primary election.
